In life we all have problems. Solve one problem and sooner or later another pops up, in most cases, to your irritation. Like it or lump it as long as you live you will always have to face and solve problems.

Now let’s talk of 5 effective techniques to not only solve your problems but to also profit from them.

1. Be Calm and Positive

There is nothing that amplifies a problem more than an agitated and fear-filled mind. Whereas this state of mind will not help in anyway in solving a problem, it further complicates matters by crippling you. Yes fear cripples and in the words of William Shakespeare makes us to “lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt”. Maintain a calm and positive mind frame whenever a problem shows up. Know that God will not send you anything that you cannot handle. After all problems and challenges only help us to grow stronger. Every problem you solve strengthens your character. Moreover you should remember that “every adversity has the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit for those who have a positive mental attitude”.

2. Pray

“And do not forget prayer, it releases power” says the Father of Positive Thinking. When you have a problem, pray about it. Ask for guidance and an effective solution. When you pray, believe that your prayer will b e accepted. Many people often neglect prayer, going about their business as if they possess power to do everything they wish to do all by themselves. But lo and behold, tragedy strikes one day and with a jittery mind filled with fear, they rush to a hasty prayer; the fear in their mind prevents them from the belief that is necessary for the acceptance of prayer and what do you expect? Such prayers would often go unanswered or least unanswered in the hasty and unbelieving mind of such people and this further worsens their condition by making them to lose faith in the power of prayer. “Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them”.

3. Study Your Problem

Man’s greatest enemy in any situation is ignorance. How often do we go about trying to do something and yet know so very little about the object of our efforts. When a problem arises, do not go to work on it with it with its initial appearance to you for it is very likely that you may start out with some form of agitation about the problem, whether that agitation shows itself or not. So try to find out everything you can about your problems. Look at the issue at hand from different angles. Once you are satisfied that you know enough about the problem, try to gather as much information as possible about it with a view to coming up with a creative solution.

4. Think

Having gathered enough information about your challenge, use you mind. Think about ways to go about solving the problem. In their best seller, “Success Thought a Positive Mental Attitude”, Napoleon Hill and W. Clement Stone, posit that “many times all that it takes to meet an immediate problem is quick thinking, adaptability, and taking a second look at the situation which is causing the problem”.

5. Act

Action is eloquence, says the Bard of Avon. William Shakespeare made a profound statement in the foregoing quotation. How often do we go about talking of our desires and goals, or worse still complaining about our problems without doing anything about them. When you study your problem and engage in thinking of creative solutions, you have gone half way into the solution of those problems. Now the other half must be done or there is no practical solution to the problem. When you have an idea on how to solve a problem, you must follow through with ACTION! “It often takes only one idea, followed by action, to turn failure into success.”

Learn to see the good in your challenges and go about solving your problems with faith and a calm yet determined mind frame.
